STORM SWEEPS IRELAND
STREETS STREWN WITH TILES AND SLATES MANY TREES UPROOTED Reed. .9.19 a.m. LONDON, Wed. The English Channel was swept by a sudden and heavy gale, forcing many vessels to seek port. A storm of terrific violence swept throughout Southern Ireland last night. Streets in the towns and villages were littered with fragments of titles and slates blown from roofs. Hundreds of trees were uprooted, and the lowlands were, badly flooded.
