CHRISTMAS GATHERING
J. C. WILUAMSON’S HEAD OFFICE STAFF NEW MANAGER WELCOMED From Our Resident Reporter WELLINGTON, Thursday. To exchange the compliments of the season, members of the head office staff of J. C. Williamson (N.Z.), Ltd., met at a pleasing gathering in the Grand Opera House at Wellington on Christinas Eve. The opportunity was also taken to welcome to New Zealand the new general manager for the Dominion, Mr. IT. P. Muller, who has been appointed to fill the position held for so many years by the late Mr. Bert Royle. Respect to the memory of the late general manager was manifested by all those present standing in silence. It was decided to forward a message of condolence to Mrs. Royle. In responding fo the toast of the company, Mr. Muller said he was indeed glad to be back once again in New Zealand, where he had established many staunch friends. J. C. Williamson, Ltd., had gained a high reputation in the theatrical world and had shown great enterprise in extending its operations to London and New York. In concluding, Mr. Muller said it would be his earnest endeavour to maintain the high standard of work which had been set by the late Mr. Bert Royle. 1
Several toasts were proposed, which formed a most interesting part Of a pleasing and successful gathering.
