HAMILTON BRIDE WEARS VEIL OF BRUSSELS NET

FINCH—HOPKINSON A very pretty wedding took place at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Hamilton, recently between Inez Mary, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hopkinson, Hamilton, and Cecil Edward, son of Mrs. J. Digney, and the late Mr. Finch, of Sussex, England. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a lovely frock of ivory georgette, and her beautiful veil of Brussels net was held by a coronet of orange blossom and pearls. She was attended by her sister, Miss Hilda Hopkinson, who wore a charming frock of rose-coloured georgette and a picture hat of bangkok and crinoline straw to match. Her bridesmaid, Miss Mary Duncan, was in a pretty autumntinted chiffon frock and hat to tone. Mr. 'William Johnson was best man and Mr. Charles Finch acted as groomsman. A reception was held later at the Centreway, where the bride’s brother received the guests, wearing a golden brown crepe de chine dress and a black hat. ENGAGEMENTS The engagement is announced of Sylvia, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Bowers, Hamilton, to William Arthur Irwin, of Auckland, son of Mr. and the late Mr. Irwin, of Southport, England. * * * The engagement is announced of Miss Lorna Lawrence, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Lawrence, Tamahere, to Mr. Lawrence Wooderson, third son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Wooderson, of Motumaoho. * * * Mr. and Mrs. James McCluskey, Whangarei, announce the engagement of their elder daughter, Gwendolyn, to Norman Stephen, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Darius Bradley, “Berescourt,” Hamilton.
