MOUNT EDEN BOYS’ BAND

A pleasing ceremony took place on Monday evening at the termination of the Mount Eden Boys’ Band practice, when Band Boy F. Bickins, on behalf of the band, presented Mr. George Marsh, bandmaster, with a silvermounted baton, suitably inscribed. After thanking the boys and complimenting them on their good behaviour and regular attendance, two factors which had attributed much to the success of the band, Mr. Marsh was entertained by the executive committee. On its behalf, Mr. A. Wakefield presented Mr. Marsh with a tobacco pouch and wallet, indicating the esteem with which he was held, and the appreciation of [ his valuable services.
