WIGWAM WRITERS AND ARTISTS
IX l!l1 ' page will be found the results of the Christmas competi- * tions, and the Chiefs and Braves are to he warmly congratulated on their work which, as usual, is of a very high standard. The outstanding entry in the poetry competition comes from Harvest Moon who, in “Quest,” lias put into words a thought that lies dormant in the hearts of many worshippers of the Great Outdoors. Little Swift Canoe comes second with her virile “Song of Youth.” There is inspiration behind Lone Dreamer's “Dreams” and a wistful message in Sighing Winds “Stolen Treasure,” where silver proves but poor compensation for the finer, but more fragile things of life. Tn the drawing section the entries were very hard to judge, for our young artists sent some fine sketches. The dainty figure study by Silver %loccasiif has won pride of place, with Harvest Moon s elfin study second. A Christmas scene by Sighing Wind was published in the Happy Town page last Saturday. The result of the Wigwam scribes’ annual competition is also announced. Congratulations to Golden Birch and Straight Feather. And to you all my thanks and my Christmas greetings. REDFEATHEE.
