FACES NUMBER OF CHARGES LONE-HANDED EXPERT Press Association DUNEDIN, Today. Robert Cockburn pleaded guilty in the Police Court to six charges of breaking and entering and was committed to Christchurch for sentence, where he will also appear on another similar charge. Accused, a coalminer, in a statement to the police, said he came from Greymouth on November 27. H* admitted breaking into the Cavershain Post Office, South Dunedin Savings Bank and other premises and charging safes with gelignite and firing the charges with detonators, electric wires and a small battery. He had don© all the jobs lone-handed. The police state a good deal of damage was done to the premises. Prom one safe accused took £2>'. At °ne of the places accused climbed a slanting roof next door, then broke n pane of glass in the skylight and lowered himself into the office. He first blew the strongroom door and then blew two safes in the strongroom.
