WEDDING OF INTEREST

CEREMONY AT ST. GEORGE’S CHURCH DEATH—HASTINGS St. George’s Church, Ranfurly Road, , Epsom, was prettily decorated with bowls of pink and mauve blooms on Tuesday afternoon on the occasion of the marriage of Joan Constance, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Has- ; tings, of Puhinui Road, Papatoetoe, and late of Waikato, to George, the second son of Mrs. and the late Mr. George Death, of Auckland. The bride, entering the church on the j arm of her father, wore a becoming j frock of ivory satin with a collar of ! french lace, and finished with a pearl j clasp. The skirt was of french lace, j dipping to the ankles at the back, with i j handkerchief pointed side panels of satin. Her tulle veil was daintily em- j broidered with silver bells and fell in j soft folds to form a train. It was held j in place with a circlet of orange bios- J soms. She carried a charming bouquet of white Christmas lilies and carnations. In attendance was the bride’s sister, Miss Ethel Hastings, who wore a frock of orchid pink taffeta, with skirt of tiny frills edged with silver lace in an uneven hemline. She wore a small crinoline hat to tone and carried a bouquet of pink and blue flowers. Miss Joan Massey, who also attended the bride, was daintily frocked iti i mauve taffeta, and small hat to match Her bouquet was of mauve sweet peas and pink gladiolas, with maiden-hair fern. As flower girl, little Madge Hastings, a cousin of the bride, was quaintly frocked in paon blue and wore a dainty hat to tone. She carried a2 silver basket of blossoms in shades of pink, mauve and blue. The Rev. Mr. Litt was the officiating clergyman, and Mr. D. Ward carried out the duties of best man. Mr. lan Hastings was groomsman. The reception was held in the Domain Kiosk, which was prettily decorated -with pink roses aijd mauve Canterbury bells. The walls were hune with festoons of pink and mauve blooms, interpiingled with asparagus fern. Mrs. Hastings received the guests wearing a frock of rose-shaded floral georgette with a black coat. Her smart hat was of black with reliefs of .silver. Mrs. Death wore a frock of blade satin carreau, relieved with french embroidery, with black coat and small hat. The bride travelled in a dainty threepiece ensemble with skirt and coat of sage green silk marooain, and a champagne crepe de chine jumper. She wore a close-fitting hat to tone. Among the guests present wereMrs. A. Kempton, Mrs; C. Westbury, Mrs. H. Cornwall, Mrs. John Massey, Mrs. R. C. Wallace, Mrs. Worsfold, Miss Death, Mrs, Allen, Mrs. N. Hastings.
