PRETTY EPSOM WEDDING
BLUE FROCKS AND PICTURE HATS OF LACE JUPE—GRANT A pretty wedding was celebrated at the Epsom Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon, when Clara Ellen, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Grant, Golf Road, Epsom, was married to John Arthur Jupe, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jupe, of Abbeywood, England. The Rev. A. W. Bean officiated. The church had been beautifully decorated by friends of the bride, who, entering on the arm of her father, looked charming in an ankle-length frock of ivory georgette, having a flounced, petalled skirt. Over the corsage fell a graceful bertha collar, the waist-line being defined with a trail of orange blossom. Her veil, which fell in long folds to form a train, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom and silver tissue. A lovely shower bouquet of orange blossom, Christmas lilies, carnations and stocks completed a delightful picture. Two maids were in attendance, Miss Dulcie Aspinall and Miss Edna Long, who were frocked alike in egg-shell blue crepe de chine, with picture hats of black lace. They carried bouquets in autumn tints. Little Joan Develyn and Clara Wymer, cousins of the bride, who acted as train-bearers and flower girl respectively, wore dainty frocks of salmon and lavender crepe de chine. Mr. Harold Ainsley was best man, Mr. Bert Watts acting as groomsman. An old friend of the bride officiated at the organ. A reception was held at the Domain Kiosk, where the bride’s mother received the guests wearing a frock of biscuit crepe de chine, with pipings of royal blue, and a hat of matching shade. She carried a posy to tone. During the reception solos were given by J. Aspinall. Among those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Grant, junr., Mr. and Mrs. TI. B. Wymer, Mrs. and Miss Mitchell (Morrinsville), Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Raeburn (Wanganui), Mrs. A. Green and Miss E. Green (Whangarei), Mrs. R. Hughes (Whangarei), Mrs. and Miss 2. Aspinall, Mrs. A.
