FOOT FACTS
There are many people who / suffer needlessly from weak feet; for this ailment can often be alleviated by diet and exercise. Those who wish to rear strong horses give them plain natural food and appropriate exercise. The percentage of those who are troubled with weak feet, flat feet, etc., is very great, because we live to an ever-increasing extent on denaturalised, dehumanised foods, almost unsuitable for animals, and we take insufficient exercise. To produce strong bones and ligaments we must have plenty of lime, phosphorus, iron, etc., in our food. These valuable products are contained in the branny outside of the grain, which is given to feed livestock. Moreover, we should take plenty of milk and give our children plenty of milk, for it is exceedingly rich in lime. Weak feet and ankles can be strengthened by very simple exercises, such as tip-toeing, raising and lowering our body on tip-toe a number of times. This exercise is particularly useful for children, and one can induce them to do the exercise regularly by offering a little prize or by putting things on a high shelf which induces them to stand on tip-toe. In case of great and irremediable foot weakness, foot supports should be worn in boots and shoes, and footwear should be used which closely grasps and supports the weakened ankle.
