Round the Churches
Divine services, morning and evening, will be conducted at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Parnell, when the preacher will be Canon Fancourt. whose subject in the evening will bo "Christ in Our Midst.” Special Christmas Sunday services will be celebrated at the Bercstord Street Congregational Church. The preacher at both services will be the Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher. Confirmation by his Grace the Archbishop will be conducted the 11 o’clock morning service of St. Matthew's Church, Wellesley Street. A Christmas carol service will be conducted in the evening. "The Leading of the Star” will be the subject chosen by the Rev. K. o. Roberts, at the 7 o’clock evening service of the Mount Eden Congregational Church. Divine services morning and evening will be conducted at both the Edendale Presbyterian Church, Balmoral Road, and the Somervell Memorial Church, Remuera. "The Christ Child” will be the topic treated by Mr. S. R. Goodman at the 11 o’clock morning service of the Auckland Higher Thought Temple and in the evening Mr. M. Walker will speak upon "Christmas Day. A Back -to-the-Bible Conference will be conducted by Dr. French E. Oliver at the Scots Hall. At the 7 o clock evening service Dr. Oliver will speaK upon "Creation or Evolution?” Special Christmas services will beheld in the Pitt Street Methodist Church, when the preachers will be the Rev. W. Rowe in the morning and in the evening the Rev. W. Walker. Christmas music will be given by the choir. * * Special festival services will be held In the St. John’s Church, Ponsonby Road. There will be a parade of Girl Guides in the morning and in the evening a special musical service will be conducted. The Rev. W. Lawson Marsh will be the preacher at both services of the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. Devonport. “The Bells of Peace” is the subject of Mr. Hewitt at the evening service of the Spiritual Scientists’ Church, Grey Lynn. * * * Morning and evening services will be conducted by the Methodist Central Mission, Airedale Street. The Rev. A. S. Wilson will conduct both morning and evening services at the Grange Road Baptist Church. The Progressive Church of spiritualists, Newmarket, will conduct a 7 o’clock evening service, when the speaker will be Mr. A. B. Belz. “Is the Universe, including Man, Evolved by Atomic Force” is the subject at the service of the First Church of Christ, Christian Science Church Hail, Symonds Street. Services, both morning and evening, will be conducted by the Waterview Methodist Church. An afternoon meeting, at 4.15, will be held by the "Men’s Brotherhood at the T.M.C.A. Mr. R. T. Reid will speak upon “The River of Life” at a meeting of the International Bible Students’ Association.
Morning and evening meetings will bo held by the Christadelphians, Freemasons’ Hall, Belgium Street.
