FISHERMAN DROWNED
FALL OVERBOARD AT NIGHT COMPANION’S VAIN SEARCH Press Association INVERCARGILL, Today. An elderly fisherman, Herbert Friekleton, was drowned at Stewart Island on Friday night through falling overboard from the ketch Digger. His mate heard a splash and a faint call. He cruised round the spot, but in the rain and darkness found no trace of Friekleton.
