CONCERT AT OTAHUHU
MISS E. A. CLARKE’S PUPILS
An enjoyable concert was given by the pupils of Miss E. A. Clarke, of Otahuhu, in the Town Hall, Papatoetoe last evening. The hall was filled. Miss Clarke deserves great credit for the creditable manner in which the pupils presented their respective items. The programme was as follows: Pianoforte duet, Misses Y. Stephens and G. Montgomery: recitation, “Two O’clock,” Miss Agnes Weir; song, Mr. C. Firth, Peter Pan, Misses G. Allice and J. Bleakly; humour, Mr. Alan McElwain; recitation, ‘Expiring Dishwasher,” Miss L. Hart; dance. Miss Gladys McCauley; recitation. Misses A Sinclair and J. Hall; song, Miss Maraibeau; rainbow dance by the Papatoetoe and Otahuhu pupils; “Willow Pattern” play; recitation, Miss G. Ellis; song, Mr. Alan MeElwain; “Kiddie’s Cabaret,” Miss Avis Hall; recitation, “Johnny, You and Me,” Mr. Douglas List; recitation, “Hester’s Caller,” Betty Highland; song, Mr. C. Firth; recitation, “The Theory,” Miss A. Sinclair; “Sleepy Fairy” chorus. The accompanist was Mrs. T. B. Heather. The outstanding item was the “Willow Pattern" play by the younger members in costumes.
Presents and bouquets were presented by Mrs. J. Redshaw at the conclusion of the concert, and streamers were thrown from the stage.
