CIVIC WINTER GARDEN
BY-LAW DIFFICULTY OVERCOME SAYS MANAGER OPENING AS PLANNED Though the management of the Civic Theatre has found it necessary to slightly alter the arrangement of the tables in the restaurant and Winter Garden to comply with the city by-laws, the difficulty has been overcome, and that portion of the theatre will open this evening in accordance with the original plan. This announcement was made this morning to The Sun by Mr. Stuart Pitt, manager of the Civic, who stated that the alterations would not affect in any way the running of this department. The hitch occurred last evening when the City Council, after receiving a report from the acting-City Engineer Mr. J. Tyler, discussed the question as to whether a permit would be granted The report pointed out that the tables in the Civic Restaurant were moveable, whereas the by-laws: required them to be fixtures.
