A youth, Clarence Arthur Neilson, aged 17, employed as a general farmhand by Mr. Harold Bear, Papamoa, jumped off a wagon on Tuesday afternoon to open a gate. As he passed the horses, one of them kicked out and caught him in the abdomen. He was admitted to the Tauranga Hospital and operated on the same evening, but died yesterday afternoon. At an Inquest this morning, the coroner, Mr. A. P. Franks, returned a verdict of death due to hemorrhage and shock from internal injuries as a result of the kick.
