Tho investiture of officers for the ensuing year of the Loyal Waitoa lA>dge. M.U.1.0.0.F., was made at the monthlv meeting by Lecture Master P.G. Bro. W. L. Mills. The olficials elected by the lodge were: N.G.. Sister P. Garrett: V.G., Sister A. Cook; J.P.N.G.. Rro. C. P. Davis; E.S., Bro. Joynt; Warden, Sister F. Cheffings. The reopening of mining operations nt Wairongomai, three miles from Te Arolia, which is to take place early in the New Year, will be viewed with pleasure by local business people. Both the Bonanza and Cadman claims are-to be worked. It is an undoubted fact that rich minerals abound in tho Wairongomai locality, while it is also known that special machinery is required to separate the gold and silver from the highly refractory ore. The Piako County Council is ready t«> put the necessary road in order for Uie transportation of machinerv, and Mr. J. W. McCoy, of Auckland, has taken over the claims, with the express purpose of working them.
