JUBILEE OF FORMATION FIRST MEETING IN TIMARU Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Today is the jubilee of the foundation of the New Zealand Press Association. The conference at which it was formed was held at Timaru on December 19, 1579. Those present were Air. G. Fenwick, of the “Otago Daily Times,” Dunedin, who was chairman; the Hon. W. Reeves, of the “Lyttelton Times” and the “Star.” Christchurch; Mr. A.' G. Horton, of the “New Zealand Herald,” Auckland; Mr. H. Brett, of the “Star,” Auckland; Mr. H. Blundell, of the “Post,” Wellington; Air. A. G. Fraser, of the “Morning Herald,” Dunedin; Mr. J. W. Jago, of the “Star,” Dunedin, and Mr. H. Belfield, of the “Herald,” Timaru. -The association started with 4S members. In commemoration of the first meeting a jubilee meeting of the association is to be held at Timaru on February 20, 1930.
