WIFE STAYS WITH MOTHER

HUSBAND GRANTED DIVORCE The story of a wife, who would not leave her mother, was related by Dr. Michael Beresford Gunn, who sought dissolution of his marriage with Vera Mary Gunn in the Supreme Court today. Petitioner, who based his petition on desertion, said that while on active service with the Australian forces in November, 1917, he was married. Returning to Australia on the conclusion of hostilities, he arranged for his wife to join him there, but she would not leave her mother. Since coming to live in New Zealand in 1921, he wrote inviting her to join him here, where he had established a home, but she replied asking him to come back to England. A decree nisi was granted.
