WESTERN SPRINGS RACES Experts on the cinder track from Australia will be seen at Western Springs Stadium on Saturday evening. Altogether 12 A grade men will compete, as well as a number of what might be termed "improved improvIn order to ensure that the programme will finish promptly at 10 o'clock, the management has decided to run the race for, beginners before 8 p.m. The first heat is scheduled to begin at 7.45 p.m. Fifteen events will be decided during the evening. There will be a special match race among the three Australians, Jimmy Datson, who received an excellent welcome last Saturday, Billy Sticpewich, another star who broke track records at both Christchurch end Wellington, and Les Lawrence, of Tasmania. Datson and Sticpewich will both attempt to set a track record for a mile (four laps). A match race for six riders, Australia v. Auckland, is being arranged. Altogether a thrilling evening should be provided by these teams of broadsiding experts.
