REMOVAL OF PROTECTION WANTED “Death, for the Californian quail was a popular cry at an Aucklan Provincial executive meeting of th New Zealand Farmers’ Union last ever ing Members stated that the quail wa respoisible for considerable damage i many parts of the province. An ir stance was quoted where quail ha cleaned up a newly-sown field of gras seed. It was also stated that the birc were active in helping the spread c blackberry. It was decided to make represents tions to the Government to have prc tection removed from the California quail.
