“FATTY” LAMB WANTS TO RIDE AT AUCKLAND SUCCESS IN AMERICA Special to THE SUN WELLINGTON. Tuesday. An interesting visitor to Wellington »*. ' (“Fatty”) Lamb, Australian champion cyclist, who is on his way back to Sydney fro mthe United States. Lamb arived from San Francisco after nine months in America where, he complained, he found the weather to cold for him. With him is Bob Spiers, an old Australian Cycling champion, who has been back and forward to the U.S.A. a number of times. Lamb had a very successful time both behind the motors and in ordinary cycling and hopes to ride in New Zealand, especially at Western Springs, Auckland, in competition with Opperman, the great professional. He showed interest in the projected cycling breakaway, but says that he has never seen amateur cycling better controlled than it is in New Zealand. He expressed particular satisfaction at the restoration to health of F. Grose, the Christchurch cyclist, whom he considers has the elements of a world’s champion.
