Miss E*R. Oliver has gone to Wellington. * * * Mrs. Neumann has returned to Wanganui. * * * Mrs. Harold Warner and her two sons, Desmond and John, have returned from England. * * * Mrs. R. B. Lucas, who has been visiting Auckland, has returned to Palmerston North. Mrs. F. G. McKay, of Greymouth, is staying with her sister, Mrs. Aitken Paterson, of Mount Albert. * * * Mr. and Mrs. G. Dath, of Matamata, and Mr. and Mrs. T. Brady, of Wanganui, are guests at the Royal Hotel. * * * Mrs. A. W. Perkins has returned to Remuera. She' has been visiting Rotorua and the Chateau Tongariro. * * * Mrs. E. B. Gunson. who has been staying with Mrs. White Batley, of Moawhango, Taihape, has now returned to Auckland. * * * Visitors at the Grand Hotel include Mrs. A. McLeod, of Sydney, and M!rs. H. C. Barrington and Miss Yvonne Barrington, of Australia. Mrs. M. Milton returned yesterday from an extended visit to Norfolk Island. She has taken up her residence at Arundel, Waterloo Quadrant. * * * Mrs. J. G. Coates, who has been spending the last few days in Hawke’s Bay, presented the prizes last evening at Woodford House School. With two of her daughters she will return to Auckland on Friday on her way to Dargaville. =* * * Miss Betty Matthews, of “Glen Lee,” Otorohanga, who has been visiting Auckland as the guest of Mrs. V. R. Meredith, Dilworth Avenue, Remuera, has returned to Otorohanga for a few days. Miss Matthews leaves again next Monday for Auckland. ENGAGEMENTS The engagement is announced of Gladys May, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Bell, of Mount Eden, to Gordon Henry, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Hendry Luke, of Mount Roskill. * * * The engagement is announced of Gladys Aileen, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Watts, of Roslyn Terrace, Mount Albert, to Hector Leslie, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Parker, of Waipukurau, Hawke’s Bay. * * * The engagement is announced of Iris Rebe, only daughter of Mr. W. H. Jones and Mrs. Jones, of Ocean View Road, Northcote, to Elliott Wentworth, only son of Mr. and the late Mrs. E. C. Fountain, of Kaimai, Shakespeare Road, Milford.
