MAJESTIC

NEW PICTURES TOMORROW “Under the Southern Cross,” the Maori picture of New Zealand in the days before the white men’s arrival, will be presented at the Majestic Theatre, for the last time this evening. Miss Bathie Stuart will also make her final appearance, also the bright supporting films. A picture of intense dramatic nature, “The Valiant,” is the main attraction at the Majestic Theatre tomorrow. The story concerns the son of a widow who left home and went to earn his living in the city. Deliberately, he shoots a man, and then gives himself up to the police. He will not disclose his identity, however, though the police bring pressure on him to do so. A thousand miles away his mother sees his photograph in the newspapers, and the idea becomes fixed in her mind tha! the condemned man is her son. Too aged to make the long trip necessary to establish identification, the widow sends her daughter to interview the prisoner. The sce#ies that follow and the dialogue that passes between the brother and sister, are most dramatic, and the Voices are reproduced ' in a manner Which intensifies the situation.. David Rollins and Nancy Drexel, who is making her talking film debut, are the leading players in the all-talking phantasy, “Forget Me Not,” to be screened as thes second feature. The story of “Forget Me Not” is based on an old fairy story. How Christmas was observed in a German village nearly two centuries ago is seen and heard. It is a Fox Movietone film made entirely in dialogue with Christmas bells, the song of a bird, as well as interesting sound effects. Finally there will be shown a bright story of circus life entitled “The Circus Kid,” and starring Frankie Darro.
