BUSY COURTS

LAST TRAFFIC DAY FOR THREE WEEKS Today being the last traffic court day until January 7, there was a heavy list of traffic cases before the Police and Magistrate’s Courts this morning. In the Police Court Mr. E. C. Cutten, S.M., was sitting until late and it was after 11 o'clock before Mr. P. K. Hunt, S.M., left the bench in the Magistrate’s Court, where the city traffic department brought charges against nearly 50 motorists. There was, in addition, a fairly long list brought by local body officers. In the auxiliary court room, the Post and Telegraph inquiry commenced the third day of its sitting to inquire into allegations regarding betting through the telephone by officers. The inquiry is not open to the Press or public.
