SUBSIDY ON PORK

A protest against the decision of the Government to remove the subsidy on pork for export was registered at an executive meeting of the Auckland Provincial branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union last evening. It was decided to forward a request to the Government asking that the subsidy be reinstated with a view to guaranteeing a minimum of 5d a lb.
