THREE CELEBRATIONS FALL IN FEBRUARY PRESENTATION TO CHAIRMAN A 'proposal in view by the Auckland Electric-Power Board is the combined observance in February next of the opening cf its new offices in Queen Street, the 21st birthday of the board and the switching-on from the City of Arapuni power. When the chairman of the board, Mr. W. J. Holdsworch, was in Wellington a few days ago, he interviewed the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, suggesting the Minister’s attendance at the combined celebration. The board’s meeting yesterday afternoon was the last in the Quay Street board-room. Significance was given the occasion by the presentation by the members of the board of a silvermounted cane to Mr. Holdsworth and it silver entree dish for Mrs. lloldsworth. In making the presentation Mr. S. J. Harbutt said Mr. Holdsworth had occupied the chair successfully for eight years. Mr. Holdsworth extended the greetings of the season to the board and t<* the staff. Mr. R. H. Bartley, general manager, spoke for the staff.
