BAZAAR AND GARDEN FETE
SUCCESSFUL AVONDALE GATHERING CHURCH FUNDS BENEFIT On Friday evening and Saturday afternoon the Catholic Convent grounds at Avondale were the scene of a most enjoyable function, when a bazaar and garden fete was held. There was a large attendance, and the proceeds, which amounted to £l2O, all go toward the church fund. In charge of the Christmas tree were Miss Casey, Mrs. Kennedy and Mr. J. Gordon. A fine exhibition of clog and fancy dancing" was given by Miss Mavis Wood. Stallholders were:—Jumble, Mrs. Caltaux, Mrs. Ward and Miss Charles; produce. Mrs. Evails, Mrs. Somervell, Miss O'Rvan and Mrs. Turner; hoopla, in charge of Mr. Turner, Mr. J. Somervell and Mr. J. Gordon; sewing stall, Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Taplin and Mrs. Sissons; sweet stalls, Miss J. Severne, Miss F. Keary and Miss E. Somervell; drink stalls, Miss R. Bell, Miss I. Stock, Miss A. Keary; ice cream, Mr. and Mrs. Walker; tea rooms, Mrs. Keary, Mrs. Neville, Miss Ne.ville.
