MRS. DOROTHY M. LEE An enjoyable afternoon tea, which'held unusual interest, was given by Miss Ellen Melville at the Lyceum Club yesterday, the guest of honour being Mrs. Dorothy MacCu»Tough Lee, who is an attorney by profession, and a member of the State Legislature of Oregon, United States. ly/TRS. LEE, and her husband, Mr. ■*■*-*- Scott Lee, have just completed a tour of New Zealand, and now return to America by the Niagara. A delightful talk was given by the guest upon women’s activities in the States, political, social and professional. All three were invested with a great amount of interest to the listeners, giving rise to a number of questions which were answered by Mrs. Lee. Before leaving, the speaker referred to the great pleasure she had found in her visit to New Zealand, also'in the study of social conditions here, a month being all too short a time to absorb everything. “It needs two or three to see all one wants,” said Mrs. Lee in conclusion. Among the guests were:—The Mayoress, Mrs. A. D. Campbell; Mrs. N. E. Ferner, Mrs. Alfred Kidd, Miss Alice Basten, Miss Jackson, Miss Hemus, Miss Jean Begg. Mrs. Hugh McDonald, Miss Quayle. Mrs. Russell, Miss B. E. Carnachan and Miss Robinson.
