LUNA PARK
LARGELY ATTENDED Thousands have already enjoyed the lun and amusement at Luna Park, and by all indications this summer’s short season will eclipse previous years in popularity. The park was full again last evening, and, a sure sign, there were queues for several of the attractions. Visitors to town for the holiday season are taking full advantage of the concession tickets which gives them a trip on each of the chief attractions in turn. Even then everyone seems to want another ride on the railway to get the thrill over again. Particular interest this year centres around the side-show attractions. These include the Staig Luo, a man and a woman who perform incredibly dangerous stunts riding a motor-cycle in “The Wall of Death''; also antics by "Cannon Hall Joe," a trained monkey; the “Pig-a-Dilly Circus," with Marjorie van Camp’s trained pigs; and tinally, the mystifying illusion death under the guillotine by “Doc” Hamilton. Tom Fatricola has been working simultaneously, in four pictures for Pox Films, so pleased have the studio officials been with this eccentric dancing star’s work. This made it easy for the Hollywood newcomer in one respect Practically any stage he happened to wander into when reporting in the morning would prove to be the right one. “The Dummy," a Paramount ailtalking picture which will be released shortly in New Zealand, contains many talke favourites in the cast Ruth Chatterton, Fredric March, Jack Oakie, Zasu Pitts, Eugene Pallette Mickey Dennett, Fred Kohler and ‘Spec” O’Donnell, all popular with Auckland audiences, are featured in the production.
