WHITFORD CALF CLUB
DEMONSTRATION DAY The Whitford Calf Club held its first quarterly parade of calves on Saturday afternoon. Mr. C. R. Spragg, of Auckland, judged the calves, which all showed much evidence of good care on the part of the youthful owners. Mrs. Aickicn presented ribbons to the prize-winners, who were as follow: Pedigree Jersey Heifer Calf.—Ruth Eales, 1; Harold Davis, 2; Noel Booker, 3. Marked Grade Jersey Heifer. —S. Cope, 1; C. Steele, 2; Nola Millar, 3. Marked Grade Ayrshire Heifer. Edith Millar, 1Specials.—Best calf in club owned by a girl; first prize given by Mr. C. Hensen, second prize given by Mr. H. Philp: Ruth Bales’s Tuawhare Famous, 1; Nola Millar’s entry, 2. Best calf in club owned by a boy; first prize given by Mr. J. Meagher, second prize given by Mr. T. Pole: H. Davis's Tuawhare Scylla, 1; S. Cope's entry, 2. Mr. Spragg gave an instructive address and*demonstration, and enjoined the youthful competitors to persevere with their charges. The secretary to the Junior Calf Club announced that Mr. F. TI. Brownhill and Dr. Aicken had been elected honorary life members in appreciation of generous gifts. Messrs. J. Meyer and W. F. O’Donnell represented the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association.
