NOVEL LIGHTING EFFECTS Delicately shaded blue lights playing indirectly on the ceiling and festoons of greenery and streamers ma.de a pretty scene at the Milford Picturedrome on Saturday evening, when the popular theatre-cabaret was en fete for the celebration of its seventh birthday. Following the picture programme there was a carnival dance to the strains of Tremain’s Picturedrome Band, augmented for the occasion. Confetti, streamers and balloons and other novelties lent an added touch of carnival to the scene, and the host of dancers present paid a tribute to the ’Drome’s popularity. Among the dancers were: Mrs. W. Conning, who wore cream and blue silk; Miss Ruth Giles (Te Kauwhata), figured red silk; Mrs. A. Tysoe, green ninon and lace; Mrs. S. Haylock, betty blue georgette; Mrs. N. R. White, pale blue organdie; Mrs. T. Wade, red satin beaute; Mrs. D. C. Clouston, red crepe de chine; Airs. Deck, apricot crepe de chine; Airs. Ivil, figured panne velvet; Mrs. J. G. Nainger, hand-painted silk crepe de chine; Mrs. Ayers, navy crepe de chine; Airs. T. Robinson, black georgette; Mrs. E. Tremain, green crepe majestic embroidered with green and gold; Airs. Mollard, champagne crepe de chine and lace; Aliss Jean Tremain, blue silk embroidered with white; Aliss M. Sharp, white spun silk. Aliss E. Parkes was in blue striped crepe de chine; Aliss Gwen Keith, mauve voile; Aliss J. Greenway, blue and gold crepe de chine; Aliss Lynda Gosling, cream crepe de chine; Aliss W. Ayres, white crepe de chine; Aliss W. Wall, lemon taffeta with drooping hem; Aliss Alollie AlcGann, blue satin beaute; AJiSs Kathleen Franklin, apricot taffeta; Miss Phyllis Hall, cream knit silk; Aliss Thelma Benton, figured crepe de chine; Miss C. Turner, cream crepe de chine; Aliss R. Callinan, ivory satin and diaraente, with shawl; Miss Grace Levi, floral ninon; Mrs. Levi, black crepe de chine and lace flounces; Aliss Sadie Appleton, cyclamen georgette and shoulder posy; Aliss Phyl Pratt, lemon rayon. Aliss F. Worthington was wearing shell pink silk; Aliss McDermott, floral silk; Aliss E. King, ivory silk and georgette; Aliss D. Brewer, blue crepe de chine; Aliss E. Ekman, white georgette; Miss B. Ivil, blue and tomato voile de chine.
