HOUSE DESTROYED BY FIRE

OUTBREAK AT TAKAPUNA A fire which broke out at 8.43 p.m. on Saturday completely destroyed an unoccupied five-roomed cottage on the waterfront at Takapuna near the end of Brett Avenue. The fire brigade was summoned by Mr. E. Sullivan, Brett Avenue, but because of the great distance from the watermains was able to do little to stay the progress of the fire. The property belonged to the estate of the late Mrs. H. C. Nicks.
