LIABILITY DENIED
POWER BOARD AND POLE REARRANGEMENT
Liability in rearranging power poles owing to the reconstruction of the Titirangi main highway is disclaimed by the Waitemata Electric-Power Board. In passing a resolution to this effect this morning, members of .the board denied the right to expect payment from the board for what was regarded as a question for the Waitemata County Council and the Main Highways Board. Mr. S. E. Kennings was particularly definite that the board should take a stand in denying liability. A letter from the engineer of the county council said that, because of the reconstruction of the highway, it was found necessary to alter the positions of about ten power poles and a transformer platform at a cost of about £BO. The Main Highways Board had intimated that it was its policy to find one-half of the cost of such work and the engineer would like to be advised of the power board’s approval of the arrangement. Mr. G. O’Halloran voted against the motion.
