“HARD BOILED ROSE” Splendid entertainment is offered in th© talking production. “Hard Boiled Hose,’’ the principal attraction at the Popular Tivoli Theatre this evening. A recent Warner Brothers* picture, the film, as its title indicates, is of the lighter type of story. From start to finish there is not a dull moment in this picture of the gambling debts of an old Southern family, both exciting and humorous incidents occurring In rapid succession. An absorbing romance has been woven into the comedy, which is interpreted by a large and notable cast. A Paramount sound news picture, depicting world-wide events of topical interest, will be presented, with other shorter talking and singing features of a high standard. Busy days loom at Fox Movietone City for several regiments of Hollywood’s army of extras. With the launching of the annual production drive, it was learned that plans for the coming weeks include the use of a larger number of extras at the Fox *tudios than at any time since the advent of talking pictures.
