METHODIST ENTERTAINMENT

MAORI GIRLS’ CLUB A number of visitors and friends were entertained on Wednesday evening at a function given by the Auckland Methodist Maori Girls’ Club, in the Wesley Hall, Pitt Street. Sister Ivy Jones, the leader, had only a membership of six girls when the club was first formed. Now the membership has increased to 50. Games, poi dances, dialogues, and songs were given. During the evening gifts from the club girls were presented by one of the senior girls. Miss Mary Bowman, to Sister Ivy Jones, Mrs. Burton, and Miss M. Radcliffe. The programme ended with the Lord’s Prayer in Maori, and the Doxology, also in Maori.
