Casey t ame up fast, and passing the stand in the second lap Keeling jed Casey by 50 yards, with Thompson close up next. Coleman rode brilliantly and over the third lap passed four riders, passing the stand the order was Keeling, Casey, Thompson, while Coleman was next, and coming up fast. He rode brilliantly round the bend Into the home ptraight for second place. While racing for the post he passed Keeling and won bv one length, with Coyle some distance away third. The fastest lap was accomplished by Coleman, who did the circuit in a record for the track. LIGHT CAR HANDICAP 5 laps. First prize £lO, second £5, third £2. G. Paul's Thomas Special (Andrews), scr 1 Seabrook, Fowld’s, Ltd., Austin (R. M. Grierson), 60s 2 IV. A. McGuire’s Morris Minor, 55s 3 Scr.: Seabrook, Fowlds, Ltd.’s Austin, A J. Roycroft’s Bugatti. Time. 6.45 2-5. Roycroft’s Bugattl and Seabrook's Austi i developed engine trouble in the trial lap and did not start, leaving only four cars in the race. There was no change mer the first lap. Passing the stand to enter the third lap Grierson’s Austin led from the Morris Minor, while farther bt.ck the Thomas Special passed the Singer at the end of the straight. Coming into the fourth lap Grierson led the Thomas Special and the Morris, with the Singer a long way back. Going into the back straight the Thomas Special took the !«>ad from Grierson’s Austin, and had an easy win from it. The Morris Minor was *ome distance back third. Coleman rode another great race. Passing the stand at the end of the first lap the positions were: Casey, Yeats, Walker and Coppins. Over the next lap Coleman came to fourth place. Walker managed to take second place from Yeats. During the third lap Walker went to tlie lead, while Coleman went up for second place, with Casey a fair way back third. At the end of the straight Coleman took the lead and finished an easy winner from Walker, with Casey a long way back third. TOURING CAR HANDICAP Cars over 9 h.p.; 4 laps. First prize £lO, second £5, third £2. G. Campbell’s Essex, 50s 1 B. Shorter’s Essex, 13s 2 S. F. Avery’s Oakland, 30s 3 Ser.: E. Garrett’s Chrysler, N. Allright’s Bugatti. G. Howard’s Bentley, Mrs. H. B. Harding’s Rugby. Time, 5.34 4-5. Passing the stand the first time round the Essex got away first, led from the Oakland, followed by Shorter’s Essex and the Graham Paige. Along the back straight Campbell’s Essex maintained a good break, while Shorter’s Essex was coming up fast on the Oakland for second place. Shorter’s Essex passed the Oakland on the back straight. There was no change in the next lap, although the three leading cars were making a big gap from the rest of the field. Shorter’s Essex made a great bid for the lead, but Csjnipbell’s car passed the post 3s ahead. The Oakland was 6s from Shorter's Essex in third place. mcintosh handicap Motor-cycles; 5 laps. Harris (8.5. A.). Time, 4min 41 2-ssec. In this race Coleman reduced his previous record by lapping in 53sec, which was an average speed of S 5 miles an hour. At the end of the third lap Thompson had the lead and was followed by Keeling, Coulthard, Coyle Coppins and Coleman, who, although well back, was gaining rapidly on the leaders. In the last lap Coleman was up to third position. Along the back straight he passed Thompson and Keeling like a flash, to win easily. MANGERE HANDICAP t>p«?n. 5 laps. Roytroft's Bugatti. S. Hattaway’s Buick. Time, 6.4 2-5. At the end of the first lap the positions* were: Chevrolet. Ford, Singer, bniith Special and Hudson together, Thomas Special and tho Stutz a long back. During the next lap the fcniith Special went through to race past the stand close behind the Ford, and \“ e Chevrolet maintained a good lead. At the finish of the third round the Chevrolet still led and was followed by the ® m *th Special, Ford. Hudson, Thomas Special. Singer and the Stutz, which was about 200 yards behind the Singer, but nearly half a lap behind the leading car. After making a good run, the Thomas special developed engine trouble and •HI out during the fourth lap. The hevrolet flashed past the post 100 yards from the Smith Special, with the Hud®°n some distance away for third. Second Heat C. Sutherland's Sutherland . g- Shorter’s Essex, 40s 2 R. D.
