“MANUKA”
ANNUAL MAGAZINE OF TRAINING COLLEGE In recent years more and more attention has been given in school and college magazines to the acknowledgment of literary ability. This is particularly noticeable in “Manuka,” the annual publication by the Auckland Training College. Some excellent stories, both serious and amusing, and several delightful poems make good reading and prove that the Training College is a flourishing field of literary talent. Naturally a good deal of attention has been paid in the pages of the magazine to the departure of Mr. H. G. Cousins, the late principal, and the acknowledgments of his ability and rare attainment are sincere and real in their substance. A farewell message from Mr. Cousins is not the least of many good articles. The work of the year has been comprehensively recorded in various notes and articles, and photographs and drawings add to the interest of this splendid college publication. The magazine contains a full and capable account of the year’s activities. It is excellently produced and admirably edited.
