FAREWELL SOCIAL

OTAHUHU GATHERING 1 A farewell social and presentation was given to Police Sergeant and Mrs, Lambert, at St. Andrew s Hall, Otahuhu, on Tuesday evening: by he parents and friends of the kindergarten movement in Otahuhu, when a very happy evening was spent. The stage was prettily decorated ag a drawing room, and flowers and evergreens were in abundance. Across the front of the stage were the words “Au Revoir.” Mr. T. Clements, Mayor of Otahuhu, presented Mr. Lambert with a bronze ornament and eulogised the good done for the district by the recipient, in both his civil and public life. Mrs. Lambert received a beautiful shower bouquet from one of the tiny tots on behalf of the parents anil children. Mr. Lambert suitably replied. Mrs. Clements, on behalf of the parents and friends of the kindergarten, also showed appreciation of the good work done by Miss Robertson, the teacher, and presented her with a necklace from the parents and a cup and saucer from the children. The little ones also presented a bouquet. Miss Robertson suitably responded. Huring the evening a very enjoyable programme of dance music was provided by Mrs. J. Gillies. An extra was played by Mrs. McHowell. A ocal items were contributed by Mr. McLaren and Miss Robertson, and a toe dance try Aliss Elaine Blaine. The children gave an exhibition of eurvthmic dancing.
