DID NOT GO

THE LOVER'S LAMENESS While indulging in a gallop over a mile at Ellerslie yesterday morning the Te Awamutu Cup candidate, The Lover, struck himself and was lame afterward. Every effort was made to relieve the injury, but progress was not as good as. hoped and subsequently it was deemed advisable to cancel The Lover’s proposed trip to Te Awamutu, J. Williamson’s representation thus being decreased to three candidates, viz., Corinax, Gemlight and Praetor. However, the stable may not be so unfortunate in the Te Awamutu Cup as would seem at the present, for with Corinax carrying out his engagement in this race followers of the stable may expect to receive some return on their outlays.
