SCHOOL CRICKET MATCH
ROTORUA H.S. V. TAKAPUNA GRAMMAR V GAME AT DEVONPORT The third annual cricket match between the Rotorua High School and the Takapuna Grammar School was commenced at the. Devonport Domain at nine o’clock this morning. The Rotorua team, managed by Mr. J. Hinton, technical master, arrived at Auckland yesterday, and will be entertained at a dance at the Pirate Shippe* Milford, this evening by the students of the North Shore school. Following are the teams: Rotorua.—Hart, Hinton, Pitson, Matthews (captain), Ryder, Dowson, Lovegrave, Hunt, Cottrell, Kingi and Beale. Takapuna.—Knownes, Eade, Ferguson (captain), Blamires (2), Fale, Macindoe, Yarnton, Curtayne, Warren and Hamlin. Rotorua batted first and made S 3 runs, Kingi 20, Hinton 17 and Matthews 13 being the only batsmen to reach double figures. Bowling for Takapuna, Knowles 3-5, Eade 3-27, Yarnton 2-23. Takapuna, in its first innings, had 4S on for one wicket at lunch. Ferguson 27 not out, A. Blamires 16 not out, W. Blamires 3.
