UNDER BURNING CAR

WORKMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED RESCUER ALSO HURT From Our Own Correspondent WHANG AREI, Today. Two men were badly burned when a car under which Mr. John McEwaa was working caught fire. In an attempt to drag his workmate clear, Mr. Lionel Knight received severe hurra on his left arm and the left side of his face. Mr. McEwan, aged 18, whose parents reside at Riponui, was terribly burned on both arms and both legs and the lower half of the face and neck. It is understood the hospital authorities are treating him with the tannic acid method, which has not been used in Whangarei before and. rarely in New Zealand. The body and hood of the car were extensively burned.
