PLAZA
“THE GLAD RAG DOLL” Something new in screen entertainment is promised at the Plaza Theatre this evening, -when there will be presented the all-talking success “The Glad Rag Doll.” This is an entertaining story of ultra-modern life and combines dramatic power with deft touches of bright comedy. It is interpreted by a large cast, headed by the beautiful actress, Dolores Costello, and opposite her, the fine English actor, Ralph Forbes. Mr. Forbes commenced his career on the London stage and his pure English voice is well recorded in this talkie. A brilliant collection of short talking and singing featurettes will also be presented on this evening’s programme. They include a Paramount Sound Gazette, with records of all the latest world news; a Vitaphone twoact play entitled “Stool Pigeons”; new songs by Jane Pursell, who is known as “Hollywood’s Radio Girl,” and finally, sea songs and chanties by Gus Reed and his orchestra and soloists.
