SALE OF WORK
GRANGE ROAD EFFORT
Busy stallholders and an excellent attendance of the public combined to spell success for the Christmas sale of work of the Grange Road Church which was opened last evening. The Rev. A. Wilson presided, and in his introductory remarks apologised for the absence of the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, whose recall to Wellington had interfered with his intention to open the sale.
He was happy, however, to introduce Mrs. Stallworthy, Mr. G. C. Munns, M.P., and Mrs. Munns.
After the secretary, Mr. A. J. Lucas, and the treasurer, Mr. R. S. Abel, had welcomed the visitors, speeches were made by Mrs. Stallworthy and Mr. Munns, the wife of the Minister of Health declaring the sale open. She was presented with a basket of fruit from the guild, and she and Mrs. Munns were handed bouquets from charming twin children, the little Misses Bristow. The sale will continue this evening and conclude tomorrow.
