Hume, of Silver Road, Epsom. Mrs. Edgar and Miss Eva Edgar, who have been spending a holiday in Morrinsville, have returned to Auckland, * * * Airs. Stanley Heather, of Perth, was an arrival by the Alaunganui, and has gone to Te Puke with her mother, Airs. G. Mends. Air. and Airs. A. S. Peters, of Manehester, England, and Mr. and Airs. J. Hussy, of Wanganui, are guests at the Grand Hotel.
Mrs. Arthur Cranwell, with her children, is returning to New Zealand via Panama by the S.S. Rangitata which arrives at Auckland on December 21. They have been away from New Zealand for nine months. Afost of their time has been spent in the Aiidland Counties and Wales.

Mr. and Mrs. T. PI. Wylie motored to Rotorua for the week-end. * * * Aliss Dakers, of Te Puninga, spent the week-end with Aliss Doris Bright. Aliss Eva Watson, of Haiti ilton, has been visiting her mother, Airs. F. Watson, Thames Street. * * * Airs. ,T. J. Seales visited Hamilton on Alonday, when she sung at the reception held in honour of Eady Alice Fergusson. * * * Mrs. H. Fish, of Walton, has been the guest of Mrs. Craig, Thames Street. Aliss Ena Steele spent the week-end in Auckland.

PRESENTATION AT PAPAKURA
FAREWELL DANCE EVENING A tennis dance was held in the Parish Hall, Papakura, on Tuesday evening, by the members of the Christ Church Tennis Club, to bid farewell to Air. Deryck Milne, who is leaving for the Old Country on Friday by the Rangitiki, having been successful in being accepted as an apprentice in the Royal Air Force. Air. Joseph Rae, on behalf of the residents of the town, presented Air. Milne with a handsome wallet well filled with notes, as a token of their esteem, and wished him good luck, prosperity and good health. Air. Deryck Milne briefly replied, thanking Air. Rae and the friends who subscribed toward the presentation.
HOUSE-WARMING PARTY
PAPATOETOE GATHERING
A gay house-warming party was held at the residence of Air. and Airs. Hector Coles, Station Road East, Papatoetoe, last evening, when a large number of members of the Loyal Papatoetoe Lodge, AT.U., 1.0.0. F., paid a surprise visit and welcomed them home in the orthodox manner. Community songs and parlour games were responsible for much enjoyment. During the evening Bro. E. J. Hadley, N.G., presented the guests with a handsome set of carvers, and eulogised the good services given to the lodge by the recipients. Air. Coles suitably responded.
BIRTHDAY PARTY
COMING-OF-AGE CELEBRATION
An enjoyable birthday party was given by Air. and Airs. 1. IT. Smith, of Alfred Street, Nortlicote, to celebrate the twenty-first birthday of their daughter, Aliss Leila Smith. The rooms and supper tables were attractively arranged with summer flowers. Alusical items, cards and dancing combined' to make the evening a most enjoyable one for all those present. ___________________
