; ANNUAL MEETING AT ST. ANDREW'S I The St. Andrew’s Presbyterian • Church, Henderson, held its 18th annual meeting on Tuesday evening, • when there was a large congregation of members and friends present. The Rev. G. R. Inglis presided, and in opening the meeting outlined the growth of the Henderson Church since its erection. Tho general report showed a year of good progress and excellent attendance at the main church and also at the smaller churches (Glen Eden, Oratia and Henderson Valley) under the jurisdiction of Henderson. The membership now totalled 90, 19 new members having been admitted during the year. 1 Mr. Inglis remarked on the good ‘ work done during the year by the c pastor, the Rev. C. E. Perkins, and ’ Mrs. Perkins. It was agreed by those present that Mr. Perkins’s ser- ’ vices be retained for the ensuing year as his removal would be a great loss ; to both the church and the parish, j The various organisations of the church were reported to be doing good work, there being 40 boys and 27 girls in the Sunday school under Mr. D. Crawford and nine other teachers, 23 l in the senior Bible class, 27 in the junior Bible class and 50 in the Young Worshippers’ League. Regret was expressed at the loss of Mr. W. lTaythomewaite, who had been leader of the choir,for some years, aqd who had resigned his position. A branch of the Women’s Missionary Union had been formed and was functioning regularly. A report from the t Women’s Guild showed a good year. ■ Tho sum of £292 15s 7d had been - collected by the guild. > The financial statement showed re- ’ coipts totalling £572 15s 7d, £2U 13s ' 10d being received for missions and 1 £l7 9s Gd for the earthquake fund. » The balanec of assets over liabilities ' was £1.326 7s Id. Through the efforts 1 of the Women’s Guild tire church had J been able to reduce its debt to the 1 Auckland Savings Bank by £l5O 1 The management committee reported for a period of 1G months and stated that the church property had been improved. , . At the conclusion of the reports the Rev. G. R. Inglis gave an address, congratulating the members on their good ■work. After the address a purse of money was presented by the pastor, the Rev. c E Ferkins, to Miss Fenny for the B iod work and faithful service she had performed as church organist for the past three years.
