MUNICIPAL BAND CONCERT
The brightest programme of the season is promised by the bandmaster or the Municipal Band in the Tov/n Hall on Saturday next. “Tantalusqualen overture by Suppe will be heard for the first time by the band, and its sprightly themes should at once capture the fancy. Other oand numbers are suite, “In a Lovers’ Garden,” descriptive number, “A Forest Wooing, an amusing pot-pourri, “Tangled Tunes,” and a garland of gerr.s from Sullivan operas. Mr. McLennan will play the brilliant flute solo, “The Swallows’ Flight,” and Mr. Davies will, by request, play "The Carnival of Venice.” The singers are Miss Millicent O’Grady, soprano, and Mr. Eric Mannell, baritone. Mi®j O’Grady will sing “Ah, fors e hn. from Verdi’s “Traviata.” Booking arrangements are advertised. Clara Bow’s third all-talking PM-hn*® for Paramount, “The Saturday NighKid,” received its world premiere m New York on October 18. “The Saturday Night Kid” was declared b. critics to be Clara’s best talking P*f‘ tur© to date. James Hall has the male lead.
