NEGLECTED DISTRICT

WATERVIEW RESIDENTS COMPLAIN TRANSPORT EOARD CRITICISED Last evening a meeting of residents of Waterview, in the Avondale district, sharply criticised the Transport Board. The sanitary service of the district was also discussed as it was considered most unsatisfactory. Mr. F. Craig, the chairman, said that 'lie Waterview district was one of the most neglected in the city area. The streets were without footpaths and in some places overgrown with blackberry. Point Chevalier residents crowded the buses and kept local residents off them. Councillors Lundon, Murray and Burton were present and addressed the meeting. They supported the residents in their claims for a bettei transport service and sanitary ai l angements.
