WESTFIELD STOCK MARKET WESTFIELD, 2.30 p.m. An aggregate yarding of approximately 332 steers and 316 cows and heifers came forward to the Westfield fat stock sale today. Prices held practically on a par with late rates. Best ox made to 42s a hundred; best cow and heifer to 39s a hundred. The average quality was fair, but there was a bigger percentage than usual of inferior finished light-weight •orts. Handy-weight cattle again predominated and no exceptionally heavy prime steers came forward. The offering was drawn from most parts of the province, The best quality lines toming from South Auckland graziers. Top price of the day was secured for a line of well finished solid-boned •teers on account B. Reed, Wuerenga, which made up to £l7 for a pen which was dn ided up between A. E. Rossiter (Papatoetoe) and Thos. Scanlon (Newton); 15 in ihe line averted £l6 4s. Twenty medium prime steers on account F. A. Price, Papatoetoe, averaged £l4 5s 6d. One truck ot handy-weight steers on Recount. J. R. Hill, Ohinevvai, averaged £l3 10s 6d. Twenty well-finished, small to me-dium-boned steers on account J.
