“CON. MEN’S” RECORD

VICTIMS IN LONDON LOSE £200,000

MANY AUSTRALIANS LONDON, Sunday. Confidence tricksters in London established a record this year. It is reliably estimated that so far they have netted £200,000 from their credulous victims, many of whom are Australians. Scotland Yard officials say most of the confidence men are now en route to various parts of tlie world, the Riviera, Madrid, Florida and Sydney, for a life of ease, and the quest of unsuspecting “pigeons.” Only one woman is known to have fallen a victim to them. A well-known detective is of the opinion that prison is not god enough for confidence men they deserve a public testimonial.
