SUCCESSFUL LOAN
“CONFIDENCE IN POWER BOARD”
“The loan poll shows that we have the confidence of the ratepayers,” said tho chairman of the Waitemata Elec-tric-Power Board, Mr. J. W. Hayden, referring at this morning’s meeting to the sanctioning by the ratepayers of the board’s recent £IOO,OOO loan plan for power purposes. Of the amount £30,000 is for early reticulation in the district. Half of the sum for early use is for reticulation in the new areas. Other members regarded the result of the loan as a satisfactory indication of the confidence among ratepayers. The general purposes committee reported that Mr. Hayden had reported on the loan meetings conducted throughout the power district. Satisfaction with the policy of the board had been expressed everywhere. Mr. Hayden said that probably half tho voters had attended the poll in cars provided for use by the board. On his motion, letters of thanks will be sent to the helpers. A telegram congratulating the board on the success of its poll was received by Mr. A. J. Murdoch. M.P. for Marsden.
