ROXY

“SYNCOPATION”

R.K.O. producing officials have crowded a lot of music into “Syncopation,” their film musical-comedy extravaganza now playing to crowded houses at the Roxy Theatre. Fred Waring’s internationally-famed Pennsylvanians play nine song numbers ranging from Victor Herbert's "Sweet Mystery of Life” to Sammy Stept’s latest new song hit, one of-five especially written for this show, and entitled “I’ll Always Be in Love with You.” In addition to these there are in this all-talker two numbers by the Melody Boys, three songs by Morton Downey, songs by Dorothy Lee and Gania Zielenska, two number 'fey a String Orchestra, and a piano solo by David Buttolph. Original song compositions were created for “Syncopation.” They are “I’ll Always be in Love With You,” “Jericho” and "Do. Do Something,” and from the way they are being hummed by the outgoing crowds and sold over the counters of the music shop they seem to have scored heavily with music lovers and film fans.

The Roxy’s programme also includes a number of short talking and singing featurettes.
